A full-time or part-time research assistant in department of physics at Hong Kong Baptist University is needed immediately. Duties include experimental operation, mainly being involved in the fabrication of nanostructures using a custom designed electron beam evaporator, and morphology and optical characterization. He/She will be in charge of maintaining the custom designed facility, establishing operation procedures and developing facility operation and utilization.
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in the disciplines relating to physical vapor deposition, optical characterization, nano-material fabrication and/or surface characterization. Microfluidics and biology-related knowledge and experience would be a plus. He/She should have good command of both written and spoken English, with independent and critical thinking.
Appointment will be made on a contract of 8 - 12 months.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
