Ph.D. Student Position in Oulu, Finland
General Description
The ELSP research group, University of Oulu Finland, is looking for a highly motivated Ph.D. student. The study duration will be 4 years, from 2012 to 2016.
You will be supervised by Prof. M. Huttula and Dr. W. Cao. Your salary will be assigned within the Finnish academy salary system. Roughly speaking, the monthly salary in the beginning is around 1900 - 2000 euros. The personal progress during studies affects the salary obtained.
Your Ph.D. projects are related to the production and characterization of the free and deposited clusters, the growth of the nano/thin-films on different substrates, and the detections to the electric and morphological structures of the materials via different techniques. Synchrotron radiation (SR) based experiments will bring merits to your work. Thus, you will be involved in the SR-experiments elsewhere, e.g., MAX-Lab in Lund (Sweden), ESRF in Grenoble (France), CLS in Saskatoon (Canada) and/or SLS in Villegen (Switzerland). Side project, such as these within AMO domain, is also suggested. You will be given the chances to make broad international collaborations, as well as to develop your owns.
Qualification
You should hold or about to finish the master degree in physics, inorganic chemistry, material science or related subjects. Good communication in English is mandatory and the willing to have the international travel will be a merit.
