Position Summary
• Daily operations of Handysize Bulk Ships
Responsibilities
• Go through training programs and keep learning about all aspects in dry bulk ship operation from senior operators and the team; some ship visits would be necessary for familiarization purposes
• Ensure ship employment is performed as per contract (charter party) and manage the commercial operation risks by coordinating with other internal functions
• Liaising with counterparties for timely payment and collection of hire, freight and other funds and keeping records of outstanding amounts
• Coordinate on stowage & bunker calculations and dry dock / survey arrangements
• Follow up on ship movement and prepare the updates or reports on weekly basis or when required
• Contact with vessel master, charterers, brokers, technical managers, agents (as needed), surveyors, P&I club, defensive lawyers, etc. to make the smooth ship operation
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; related majors (Shipping, Logistics and Transportation) will be good but not necessary
• Quick learner, hard worker and structured team player;
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; IT literate
• Strong communication skills as the job requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders
